“The Requiem” by John Rutter is a musical setting of parts of the Latin Requiem mass with added psalms in English,” said Dr. Daugherty. “The work was originally completed in 1985. The setting of Psalm 23, included in the work, was originally composed in 1976 for the First United Church of Omaha, Nebraska. The first performance of the full work was at Lovers’ Lane United Methodist Church, in Dallas, Texas, on October 13, 1985”
The Requiem is written for chorus, soprano solo and chamber orchestra.
The La Canada Congregational Church’s Chancel Choir presents two concerts annually: the spring concert and a Christmas concert in December.
