On September 13, the Comprehensive Community Health Centers (CCHC) held an Open House & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the health center’s newest clinic located in Sunland, California. With four existing health centers serving the Greater Los Angeles area and San Fernando Valley, CCHC provides a wide range of medical, dental, mental health, and educational services to address the needs of its community across the lifespan.
CCHC opened the doors of their Sunland site in April 2017 with the vision to serve individuals and families from all demographics and backgrounds in the Sunland-Tujunga community and neighboring cities. The mission of CCHC is to “ensure the health and wellness of each individual so every person may reach their fullest human potential within a caring environment.” The new facility is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology to provide the highest quality of care to all patients.
CCHC collaborated with the cities of Los Angeles, Sunland, and Tujunga for this event. Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and a representative for Los Angeles City Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez attended as guest speakers during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Community partners and local businesses and stakeholders were in attendance alongside CCHC’s leadership team and Board members.
The CCHC hosted an Open House Celebration open to the public, which included the meeting of CCHC staff, taking a tour of the clinic, receiving free health screenings and community resources, enjoying fun activities and much more. At the celebration, attendees had the opportunity to win prizes in raffle drawings sponsored by local businesses.
“This Open House Celebration is a great opportunity to introduce the new clinic to the community and ensure that individuals and families are aware of the resources and services available to them,” said Toyin Idehen, Manager of Outreach and Enrollment. “It is also a testament to our patients that we are expanding our services to communities who need them by delivering the highest quality of care and best patient experience with the latest technologies. Access to healthcare for all individuals is critical to our mission and everyone has a right to healthcare, irrespective of their race, where they are from, where they live, religion or socio-economic status.”
The Sunland clinic is located at 8316 Foothill Blvd., Tujunga, CA.
